Since 1969, A Cleaner World has developed a detailed process for caring for every order. When your garments arrive, we check them in, inspect them for stains and special-care needs, and determine the appropriate cleaning method. After cleaning and finishing, each garment receives a final inspection. If something doesn't meet our standards, we send it back for correction before your order is assembled and made ready for pickup or delivery.

Care-label symbols provide instructions for washing, bleaching, drying, ironing and professional cleaning. Our garment-care professionals use these instructions, along with their knowledge of fabrics and garment construction, to determine the appropriate cleaning method for each item.

It depends on the garment, how it is worn and whether it has been exposed to stains, perspiration or odors. Items worn directly against the skin may need cleaning after each wear, while suits, sport coats, sweaters and outerwear can often be worn several times between cleanings.

Don't wait to clean a garment that has food, beverage, makeup, perspiration or other stains. Some stains can oxidize or become more difficult to remove over time. We also recommend cleaning seasonal garments before long-term storage.

Professional cleaning is designed to remove soil and stains while protecting the garment's fabric, color and construction. Dirt and soil left in fabric can actually contribute to wear over time. Our team follows garment-care labels and selects the cleaning process appropriate for the fabric and construction of each item.

A Cleaner World uses several professional cleaning methods depending on the fabric, garment construction, care instructions and type of soil or stain. Our cleaning methods include modern hydrocarbon dry cleaning and professional wet cleaning, which uses water, specialized equipment and controlled processes to safely clean many garments traditionally labeled for dry cleaning.

Over the years, A Cleaner World has made significant investments in newer cleaning technology and has substantially transitioned away from perchloroethylene, commonly called perc. Our goal is to select the cleaning method that provides the best result while protecting the garment and reducing our environmental impact.

Environmental responsibility has long been important to A Cleaner World. We have invested in newer cleaning technology, expanded the use of hydrocarbon and professional wet-cleaning processes, and continue to look for ways to reduce waste throughout our operations. We also encourage customers to return reusable hangers and plastic garment coverings to us for recycling.

The appropriate preservation service depends on your gown's fabric, construction, embellishments, condition and cleaning requirements. Standard Preservation is appropriate for many synthetic gowns, while Premier Preservation provides enhanced care for silk and other high-value or highly detailed gowns. Vintage and heirloom gowns may require a customized restoration process.
