Giving Back
A Cleaner World is committed to a tradition of excellence and community service. We are proud of our partnership in community programs like Community Baby Shower and Cover the City. In addition, from 1987 through 2024, we've collected over 982,000 coats for the Salvation Army through our signature program, Give A Kid A Coat.

2025 Give A Kid A Coat Campaign
Give A Kid A Coat, a program that solicits coat donations from area residents to give to those in need will celebrate its 38th year in 2025 and will begin Friday, January 3 and run through Saturday, February 8, 2025. Those who wish to participate in the 2025 Give A Kid A Coat Campaign simply need to check their closets for an outgrown coat or a coat they no longer wear and drop it off at any A Cleaner World location during the campaign dates. A Cleaner World will clean, press, and perform minor repairs on the coats before they are given to The Salvation Army for distribution.
We encourage groups (schools, churches, businesses and others) to hold collections before the campaign kickoff and drop them off between Christmas and New Years so we can begin to clean the coats and have them ready for distribution in early January. For more information about group collections, contact liz@acleanerworld.com.
Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World, The Salvation Army, WGHP/Fox8, 1075KZL, Rock92, Go Green Plumbing, Heating and Air, and AAA Self Storage.
Community Baby Shower
Adding a new baby to a family is a joyous occasion. Yet, we know some of our neighbors are struggling to get by. Add the needs of a newborn to the mix, and many times families have to choose between buying diapers or paying the electric bill. To assist these families, A Cleaner World is teaming up with FOX8 to host the 8th Annual FOX8 Community Baby Shower, a program designed to provide baby essentials.
To participate in the Community Baby Shower, drop off new things like diapers, wipes, formula, and supplies or gently used items like baby clothes, toys, and cribs at any Triad area A Cleaner World location from April 22 to May 12, 2024. The Salvation Army will collect and distribute the donated items throughout our community. Cash donations can be made online and securely to The Salvation Army. Essential items will be purchased with cash donations and distributed to new mothers and babies in need.
“We believe in the importance of family,” said Chris Edwards, President of A Cleaner World, “and adding a baby to a family should equal joy and happiness, not stress and worry. We want new parents to be able to focus on that joy and merely loving on their new baby. The simple act of donating a package of diapers or some clothing your child has outgrown can make such a difference.”
Cover the City
The Cover the City Project began in 2013 to provide warmth and love to the homeless population in shelters and those who don't use shelters during the coldest months of the year. Each year, Cover the City Project hosts a blanket drive throughout its different chapters to collect new and gently used blankets for those in need, and this year, A Cleaner World and Fox 8 are partnering with this worthwhile mission. Forsyth and Guilford County A Cleaner World locations will accept blanket donations from October 1 through November 30, while our friends at Fox 8 will bring awareness to this critical need.
To participate, drop off a new or gently used blanket at any one of our Triad locations, and click here to learn more about the Cover the City Project.
Do Good. Donate Goods.
Since 2009, A Cleaner World has been a drop off point for anyone that wants to donate their gently used clothes to The Salvation Army Family Thrift Stores.
Items that are donated to The Salvation Army Family Thrift Stores are sold to the community, many times at bargain prices, and the proceeds help support their programs like disaster relief, adult rehabilitation, youth camps, elderly services, and so on. While these services are dubbed as programs, the bottom line is that you’re helping people (doing good) – our neighbors in need. Who knew that simply cleaning out your closet and dropping off your no longer needed clothes at any Triad A Cleaner World location (donate goods) could make such an impact?!
