Give A Kid A Coat Campaign Sees Strong Community Support as Cold Weather Returns to Central North Carolina

January 13, 2026 – The 2026 Give A Kid A Coat campaign is off to a strong start as the community continues to come together to help children and families in need stay warm this winter. Since the campaign began on Friday, January 2, residents across the area have been actively donating coats through A Cleaner World locations, helping address an ongoing need for winter outerwear throughout the community.

While the start of the year included a few days of unusually warm temperatures, colder conditions returned by Sunday evening and are expected to remain common throughout January in central North Carolina.

“As we move through January here in central North Carolina, we can expect chilly conditions to continue, which makes efforts like Give A Kid A Coat especially important for families who may not have adequate winter clothing.”

Residents are encouraged to donate new or gently used coats at any A Cleaner World location. All donated coats are professionally cleaned and repaired as needed before being distributed by The Salvation Army to individuals and families in need. Monetary donations, which can be made here, are also welcome to help The Salvation Army purchase new coats.

The Give A Kid A Coat campaign will continue through Saturday, February 7, 2026, and community participation remains essential as winter weather persists.
