Final Week to Donate: Let’s Finish Strong for Give A Kid A Coat!

February 10, 2025 - After an incredible turnout last week, A Cleaner World, FOX8 WGHP, and community partners are urging the community to make one final push to donate coats as the Give A Kid A Coat campaign enters its last week. The campaign, which has been extended through Saturday, February 15th, aims to ensure that every child and family in need has a warm coat now and into the next cold weather season.

“The need for coats doesn’t end when temperatures start to rise,” said Major Andrew Wiley of the Winston-Salem Salvation Army. “These donations will continue to provide warmth and hope when the cold weather returns later this year.”

Since its launch in 1987, the Give A Kid A Coat campaign has collected, cleaned, and distributed over one million coats to those in need. While the community’s support has been strong, the need remains.

“We’re so grateful for the amazing support we’ve seen this year,” said Brian Harrell, President of A Cleaner World. “As we enter this final week, we’re calling on everyone to dig deep and donate one more coat. Together, we can make a lasting impact on our community and ensure no child or family faces the cold without warmth.”

Donations can be made at any A Cleaner World location through February 15th. Every coat is cleaned and repaired before being distributed by The Salvation Army to families in need.
