Extended Through February 15: Make the Final Push for Give A Kid A Coat

February 3, 2025 - A Cleaner World, FOX8 WGHP, and community partners are calling on the public to make one last push to donate warm coats for children and families in need as the Give A Kid A Coat campaign enters its final weeks. The campaign, which has been extended by one week, will now officially end on Saturday, February 15th, and donations are still needed to ensure that no child goes without warmth during the remaining winter months and the upcoming cold weather season this fall and winter.

Since the campaign's launch in 1987, over one million coats have been collected, cleaned, and distributed to those in need through The Salvation Army. However, as cold temperatures continue, the need for warm coats remains urgent.

“We’ve seen an amazing response this year, but there’s still time to make a difference,” said Brian Harrell, President of A Cleaner World. “Let’s make this final push count. We’re asking our community to dig through closets, gather gently used coats, and help us keep kids and families warm—not just for the remainder of this season, but for the next one too. Every coat makes a difference.”
