4 Tips to Keep Your Oriental Rug Looking New

Your oriental rugs are a large investment. Let us help you keep them looking new with these 4 recommended tips.

  1. Vacuum frequently. Abrasive soil and sand-like particles get ground into the rug and eventually wear down the nap. Vacuuming the front of the rug as much as possible helps remove those particles. Also, be sure to vacuum the back of the rug 2 to 3 times per year.
  2. Spot cleaning. Getting a spot is almost impossible to avoid. We recommend that you remove spots as quickly as possible with a neutral pH solution such as HomePro Spotter, white vinegar and filtered water, or Woolite detergent.
  3. Rotate your rug. Rotate your oriental rug at least once each year to change the amount of traffic the rug receives to one area.
  4. Professional cleaning. Have your oriental rug professionally cleaned at least once each year if it is susceptible to heavy traffic. For oriental rugs in low traffic areas, once every three years is recommended.
