5th Annual Community Baby Shower

Spring 2020 was the season of shutdowns and cancelations. There were so many things that I missed – the NCAA Basketball Tournament, running in local races, my son going to school (and instead learned virtually), and movies at the theatre. The truth is, while I missed these things, I could learn to adapt and adjust. I didn’t need any of those things to survive.

As businesses furloughed employees, non-profits saw demands for their services rise. Unfortunately, fundraising events had to be canceled or postponed, and two out of three volunteers decreased or stopped contributing time because of the pandemic. Many non-profits were stretched beyond their means as families struggled.

One of our favorite causes, Community Baby Shower, was one of those events that had to be tabled. As much as we hated to cancel for 2020, indicators and experts were telling us this was the right thing to do. Thankfully, the 5th Annual FOX8 Community Baby Shower, a program designed to provide baby essentials to struggling families, is back for 2021, and the folks in our community could use your help!

Here’s how you can help:

• Drop off new things like diapers, wipes, formula, and supplies at any Triad A Cleaner World location
• Drop off gently used things like baby clothes, toys, and cribs at any Triad A Cleaner World location
• Donations accepted May 8 – June 5, 2021

Who will receive donations?

The Salvation Army will collect and distribute the donated items to new mothers and babies in need throughout our community.

Your donation will help alleviate stress for new parents so that they can focus on the joy of their new addition. You have no idea how a package of diapers or an outgrown outfit can lift the spirits of a struggling family. To learn more about the 2021 Community Baby Shower, click here.
